Delete Account

You can permanently delete your Engineer Scope account and its data. This page explains how, on any device, whether or not you have the app installed.

In the app (fastest way)

Open Engineer Scope and go to Settings.
Scroll to Danger Zone.
Tap Delete Account, then confirm "Yes, Delete My Account."

Immediate, permanent, self-service — no need to contact us. This flow is real and already shipped (Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account, in the current app).

Requesting deletion without the app

If you don't have the app installed, or can't sign in, email support@engineerscope.app from the email address associated with your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm and delete your account within 5 business days.

This email path is the only way to request deletion without the app today — there is no authenticated web form, verified-email request flow, or dedicated deletion-submission mechanism on this page, only these instructions. This page is live at a real public URL (engineerscope.app/delete-account) with this working email-based request path, which is what Google Play's requirement that account deletion be requestable without the app installed is asking for.

What gets deleted

Account and login credentials
Resume file and everything extracted from it (career profile, skills, work history)
Job preferences and target roles
Saved jobs and application-tracking history, including notes
Career plan and its action items
Career Coach brief and AI usage history
Notifications and analytics-preference record

What is anonymized rather than deleted

Some subscription-related records are kept in de-identified form, not deleted, so a subscription event arriving after deletion can still be processed correctly: your Engineer Scope user ID is removed from subscription and billing-event records, but a separate purchase-platform identifier tied to your subscription is intentionally retained for Apple/Google reconciliation. Past webhook event records may still reference that identifier internally — there is no client-facing read access to this data. See our Privacy Policy Section 7 for full detail.

What is not necessarily instant

Deleting your account requests deletion of your identifiable analytics profile and historical analytics events from our analytics provider. This is processed by the provider asynchronously, not necessarily instantaneously. This is a real, complete deletion — not a deactivation, and it cannot be undone — but it does not guarantee every downstream record everywhere disappears in the same instant.

Important: this does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription

Deleting your Engineer Scope account does not automatically cancel an active subscription or stop future renewal charges — they're two separate actions. To stop a subscription from renewing, cancel it directly.

iPhone/iPad: Settings app → your name → Subscriptions
Android: Google Play Store app → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions

Do this before or after deleting your account — deleting your account will not do this for you.
