1. Introduction / Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Engineer Scope mobile application and any associated services (the "Service"), operated by Flory Sanon ("Engineer Scope," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.

2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher, to create an account. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Account Registration and Security
Accounts are created and authenticated through Supabase Authentication using your email address and a one-time code sent to that address. Engineer Scope does not use passwords. You are responsible for maintaining access to your email account and for all activity under your Engineer Scope account. Contact support@engineerscope.app promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Session storage differs by platform: on a native iOS/Android build, your session is encrypted (AES-256) with the key held in the device Keychain/Keystore; on the web build, the session is held in browser storage without that additional encryption layer — a limitation of the platform, not a setting you control.
4. Description of the Service
Engineer Scope is an engineering career intelligence service for engineering students and early-career engineers job-hunting in the United States. It provides job discovery, resume-related tools, career analysis, Job Intelligence, and AI-assisted features.
Depending on your use, the Service may include: resume upload and AI-assisted parsing into a structured Career Profile; job browsing, search, and deterministic fit/eligibility scoring ("Job Intelligence"); saving jobs and tracking application status and notes; company information and hiring-activity browsing ("Company Intelligence"); a deterministic skill-gap analysis and market-data snapshot; a personal Career Plan you create and maintain; an AI-generated Career Coach brief (a Premium feature); and account, notification, and settings management.
Not every feature is available to every user, and features may change as described in Section 18.
5. Career / Job Information Disclaimer
Engineer Scope is not an employer, staffing firm, or employment agency. Using the Service does not create any employment, agency, or fiduciary relationship between you and Engineer Scope, or between you and any employer whose postings appear in the Service.
Job listings and company information — including salary, location, requirements, and availability — are sourced from third-party job boards and public employer career pages, and may be incomplete, outdated, or changed or removed by the employer without notice to Engineer Scope. Engineer Scope does not guarantee that any listing is currently open, accurately described, or will lead to an interview, offer, or hire.
Job Intelligence produces a deterministic 0–100 Fit Score and an eligibility read (for example, Apply / Consider / Skip) computed from your Career Profile against listing data. These are informational, relevance-focused indicators meant to help you prioritize your own search — not a prediction of your probability of being interviewed or hired, and not a guarantee of any employment outcome.
6. AI-Assisted Features
Some, not all, features use AI-assisted processing through a third-party AI provider: resume parsing into your Career Profile, the written strengths/gaps/risks explanation shown next to a job's Fit Score, and the AI Career Coach brief. The Fit Score and eligibility determination themselves, Skill Gap coverage, Market Intelligence, and your Career Plan are deterministic and do not use AI. See Privacy Policy Section 5 for how this data is processed.
AI-generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or based on out-of-date information, and is provided for informational purposes only. You are responsible for reviewing and deciding whether and how to act on it. AI-generated output is not a guarantee of any employment outcome and should not be your sole basis for an important decision.
Where a feature requires it, AI-assisted processing runs only after your one-time consent, reviewable in Settings.
7. User Content / Resume Content
"User Content" means your resume and any other content, profile information, or career information you submit. You retain all rights you already hold in your User Content. (Product feedback and suggestions you send us are covered separately, under Section 17, not this section.)
By submitting User Content, you grant Engineer Scope a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, analyze, and display it, and to transmit it to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy (for example, OpenAI) as necessary — solely to operate the Service and provide the features you request, including parsing your resume, generating your Career Profile, computing Job Intelligence and Skill Gap results, and generating your Career Coach brief.
8. Acceptable Use
- Don't misrepresent your identity or qualifications on the Service.
- Don't upload content you don't have the right to share, or that is unlawful or infringing.
- Don't attempt to access another user's account or data.
- Don't reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service beyond normal use.
- Don't use the Service to represent facts to a third-party employer that you know to be false.
9. Third-Party Services and Job Listings
The Service displays data sourced from, and interoperates with, third parties: job and company data from public job boards and employer career pages; authentication, database, and file storage via Supabase; subscription billing via the Apple App Store / Google Play through RevenueCat; and AI processing via a third-party AI provider. Engineer Scope does not control and is not responsible for these third parties' content, accuracy, availability, or practices.
10. Subscription and Billing
Premium features are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, at the price and billing period shown at the point of purchase in the applicable store. Engineer Scope does not process payment card details directly and does not set store pricing, taxes, or currency conversion.
11. Automatic Renewal
Where offered, a Premium subscription renews automatically for successive periods at the price and interval shown at purchase, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, per Apple's and Google's own subscription rules. Renewal charges are billed by Apple or Google to your payment method on file with them, not by Engineer Scope.
12. Cancellation
Cancel automatic renewal any time through your Apple ID subscription settings or Google Play subscription settings, effective at the end of the current billing period. Cancelling does not retroactively refund the current period's charge unless required by store policy or law.
13. Restore Purchases / Manage Subscription
Settings → Subscription provides Restore Purchases, to reapply a Premium entitlement already purchased on the same store account, and Manage Subscription, which opens the native Apple/Google subscription-management screen. Both are real, working calls into the RevenueCat SDK — but only functional on a native iOS/Android build, not inside Expo Go.
14. Account Deletion
You may permanently delete your account and its associated data at any time from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account, after a confirmation step. Deletion is immediate, permanent, and cannot be undone. See our Delete Account page and Privacy Policy for the exact categories deleted, retained, or anonymized.

16. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, and Engineer Scope's own trademarks and branding, is owned by Engineer Scope or its licensors. These Terms grant no right to use Engineer Scope's trademarks, branding, or software beyond what's necessary to use the Service as intended.
17. Feedback
If you send Engineer Scope feedback, bug reports, or feature suggestions, you grant us a free, perpetual, worldwide license to use them to improve the Service, without any obligation, credit, or compensation to you. This is separate from your resume and other User Content, which is licensed under Section 7, not this section.
18. Service Availability / Modification
Engineer Scope may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, including individual features, at any time, with or without notice, and does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
19. Suspension / Termination
Engineer Scope may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to the Service, other users, or third parties. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, as described in Section 14.

You agree to indemnify and hold Engineer Scope harmless from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable expenses arising from: your violation of these Terms; your unlawful use of the Service; your infringement of another person's intellectual property or other rights; or content you upload or submit that you do not have the right to share. This obligation covers losses caused by your own actions — it does not make you responsible for Engineer Scope's own conduct or for third parties unrelated to your use of the Service.
23. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
24. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, and you and Engineer Scope both consent to personal jurisdiction there. A dispute that qualifies may instead be brought in small claims court. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not include a class-action waiver.
25. Changes to Terms
Engineer Scope may update these Terms. A material change updates the Effective date above and, where legally required, comes with additional notice. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the update.
